On July 27th, 2019, Glodon Philippines was invited by Philippines Institute of Certified Quantity Surveyors (PICQS) to make a public presentation at CPD event with topic of “Digital Construction Philippines”.
Mr. Frank Xu, Glodon Philippines Branch Manager, made an introduction of Glodon and its development progress in the Philippines. Under the background of “The Belt and Road” and the Strategy MoU with Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines, Glodon Philippines will take a big part in Philippines Digital Construction development, which will also make great contribution to Philippines Construction Industry Roadmap 2020-2030.

Mr. Chew Siak Kor, Glodon Philippines Technical Expert, made a detailed presentation about Cubicost, the BIM-based Quantity Surveying (QS) software series including TAS, TRB, TBQ and TME as well as showing the delegates how to use the. Glodon has started its Philippines business since 2015, and has strong connection to Philippines QS Industry. In the Philippines, “QS” and “BIM” are relatively new and developing concepts. In the past, Quantity Surveyors were mostly from civil engineering backgrounds. Recently, the Philippines has developed independent professional institution such as PICQS to qualify their own QS locally.

The first Philippines BIM Competition was also announced by Mr. Frank Xu at the event and delegates have shown great interest in participating in the competition.
The founder of PICQS, Ms. Julie, stated that Glodon plays an important role in digitalization work of AEC industry around the world. She also mentioned that event delegates are very impressive in Glodon presentation of Cubicost, G-site, and Smart Helmet and they’ve learnt a lot about new tool, new technology, and new concept from this event.
