Jakarta - Glodon Indonesia collaborated with the Batam branch of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) in holding a Construction Seminar with the theme "BIM Week", which was held for 5 days from 20 - 24 July 2020 which was held online. The seminar was attended by approximately 20 participants from various backgrounds in the engineering industry.

Mr. Prastiwo Anggoro as Chairman of PII Batam said that "This event is the first step for professionals on Batam Island to get to know BIM 5D technology. Although this technology has developed rapidly in other countries, even our closest neighbor - Singapore, has applied BIM 5D technology to government and private projects. The graduates of engineering there are equipped with an understanding of BIM and are certified by BIM software developers such as Glodon. Therefore, it is appropriate that Batam Island often conducts BIM software trainings so that human resources who master BIM technology are still centralized in Java and large state-owned companies can be widely distributed. For 5 consecutive days, the training entitled "capacity building" covered various existing stakeholders, namely academics, practitioners and the government or what is known as the triple helix. It is hoped that this initial step will become an entry point for more technical training in the future so that more and more Indonesian engineers on the island of Batam will master digital technology such as BIM 5D. Finally, the income from this event has been fully donated to the Sholeh Barelang Children's orphanage, Riau Islands "

The online seminar is part of the efforts of PII Batam and Glodon Indonesia Branches to continue to be able to provide capacity building to fellow Indonesian engineers during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of providing an opportunity to see a digital future, especially in the construction industry. In addition, this activity is also a joint effort of Glodon Indonesia and PII Batam Branch to be able to contribute to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing all the results obtained from this joint BIM Week seminar to help affected colleagues, in terms of this is the Sholeh Barelang Children's Orphanage, Riau Islands.
