On 21st November 2019, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (hereinafter referred to as “HKTDC”) and Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission visited Glodon Company Limited (hereafter referred to as “Glodon”) Headquarter in Beijing, China. The objective for both parties is to embrace in-depth cooperation in the digital construction industry.
Mr. Zhi Fei, Vice President, Glodon delivered a welcome speech and introduced Glodon and the international business development. “Glodon helps industrial organizations build a trading, service and supervision platform to improve the cities’ operation. Meanwhile, by helping construction enterprises achieve lean management and effective decision-making process, it also provide the workers with efficient tools and enhance their collaboration.” He also mentioned that the majority of local construction projects in China has been using Glodon’s products. Like Beijing New Airport Construction, being the largest comprehensive multi-dimensional transportation hub, Glodon’s softwares not only facilitated in construction phase, but also in construction management.
Dr. Zhang Yong, Senior Researcher of Glodon gave a presentation on Integrated CIM Solution for Digital City based on Digital Twin. “Through the CIM-based integration platform of urban planning, construction and management, it helps to achieve high efficient management of daily operation and maintenance. It monitors urban operation status in real-time and agilely masters the emergencies of urban safety and ecological environment.”
Mr. Chen Jiaxian, Regional Director (Northern China) of HKTDC, were impressed with the presentations and mentioned that he now had a comprehensive understanding of the advantages that Glodon owes.” He further introduced HKTDC and its business in details, “HKTDC is a statutory body established in 1966 as the international marketing dedicated to creating opportunities for Hong Kong's businesses. The organization has 50 offices around the world, including 13 on the Chinese mainland. With more than 50 years of experience, our mission is to explore opportunities for Hong Kong companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, and connect them with business partners around the world. The HKTDC also organizes more than 30 fairs each year. 11 of these fairs are the biggest of their kind in Asia, while three are the world's largest. Currently we are organizing the 17th International ICT Expo, an exposition that connects IP professionals and business leaders to explore business collaboration opportunities. And the theme of this year is Smart City. “ Mr. Chen hoped that Glodon as a leading company in construction field can also join the event. “Glodon started its international business by Mergers and acquisitions, and Hong Kong as the first station. In Hong Kong, the market share reaches 70% and we usually have 20-30 projects every year. Most of the developers are using our softwares. ” said by Mr. Zhi Fei.
Ms. Xiu Lili, Researcher, International and Regional Corporation Department to Beijing Municipal science & Technology Commission also indicated that “hope we can achieve win-win cooperation for the resources advantage and further expand the cooperation into various areas of practices.
Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission implements laws, regulations, strategies, policies and principles of the state concerning science and technology (S&T) endeavors; organizes the drafting of strategies and policies to develop S&T to promote economic and social progress in the city; leads the efforts to put high-tech research and development findings into industrial production; promotes their application and the development and dissemination of applied technologies; promotes the development of non-governmental intermediary organizations for S&T consulting, bidding, evaluation, etc.
